I'll Fly Away is a song written by Jessie Early and performed by Maddie Conrad in the Season Five episode I'll Fly Away. The latter sings it over scenes of everyone at Rayna's house after her funeral trying to come to terms with what has happened.

The original version is included on the deluxe version of The Music of Nashville (Season 5, Volume 2).

Lyrics[]

Some bright morning when this life is over, I'll fly away
To a land on God's celestial shore, I'll fly away

When the shadows of this life have gone, I'll fly away
Like a bird from these prison walls I'll fly, I'll fly away
I'll fly away, oh glory, I'll fly away
When I die, hallelujah by and by, I'll fly away

Oh how glad and happy when we meet, I'll fly away
No more cold iron shackles on my feet, I'll fly away

I'll fly away, oh glory, I'll fly away
When I die, hallelujah by and by, I'll fly away

Just a few more weary days and then, I'll fly away
To a land where joy will never end, I'll fly away

I'll fly away, oh glory, I'll fly away
When I die, hallellujah by and by, I'll fly away
